Hi guys, my name is Kevin from Ireland have a freelander 1.8 :/ been through 2 head gaskets can siezed clutch release shaft. Have searched this forum Hi and low, and haven't found an answer. Am dumbfounded as to what's up with it now I was taking off at a set of lights changed from first to second and had no drive to the wheels. Was literally like the clutch wasn't engaging.
Long story short I pulled the gearbox off as I assumed it was the pressure plate was the cause... Pressure plate Seamed find along with the gearbox
Put it all back together and jacked the front wheels up put car in gear and no drive to front wheels but the rear crown wheel going to rear prop was spinning .. I have the rr prop removed...
I decided that it was obviously the ird causing the issues pulled off the offside wheel an popped th drive shaft out of the ird low and behold the drive shaft was sheared off. I removed the ird and it seems to be ok but surely if the offside drive shaft was sheared the the nearside should have still been driving the car? Anyone have an idea?
