Hi all,
As some of you may have seen, I’ve got a 2010 Freelander 2 and am very excited about it.
The CD player is okay, and the sound is good....but I like my music, any thoughts on how to upgrade either the head unit or the speakers? Also, it sounds like it has a subwoofer?

Vehicle or audio system spec dictates what speakers are installed. However due to the heavy integration of the audio system into other vehicle systems, replacing the HU isn't as easy as it was on older vehicles.

Understood. How do I find out the spec of the current speakers and whether a sub is installed, the manual seems to be fairly generic?

If it's like mine the subwoofer is under the boot tray.
I've recorded around 150 mp3 tracks each onto 6 CDs. One CD each for rock, heavy metal, blues, pop, classical, and finally, one for kids stuff (Disney tracks etc.). When playing MP3s the audio system won't let you shuffle between all the CDs, just one.

You need to search on ere and the web for someone who has already upgraded the Freelander 2 audio. See what they did and copy it. Its the easier way of knowing what yer fitting will work.

Interestingly it doesn't show the build sheet. That's very annoying.

What model is it?

Hi there,
Just checked and it just says TD4 on the boot. I’m guessing I’m looking in the wrong place....

Doh! Just checked and it says XS on the V5.
Does this help at all, please?
