Hi all - was going to top up transfer box tomorrow so will be picking up some oil from Halfords, the oil does not come in a squeeze bottle with a pipe as I expected, so need a good way of getting it in - I can’t get a pump or syphon at this short notice on a Sunday so need to improvise! Any ideas??
 
Do Halfrauds not sell siphon pumps anorl that's what I use? If not do you have a Machine Mart local as they sell em.
 
Halfords sell an oil transfer syringe 200cc capacity.
This should be enough to top up oil. It could be used to do oil change but would need lots of refilling, ok if you have the time

That 200ml thing is a nause. If you are not desperate just buy something sensible off ebay or the local DIY store because as a Land Rover owner the amount of tools and odd things you need to keep these things honest will grow exponentially :D
 
Well halfrauds did have an orange concertina pipe thing so got that for now and ordered a better pump from screwfix as I want to do the diffs at some point as well. Will be spending a fair bit of time under the beast coming up as I’m doing the rust and waxoyle treatment.
 
Buy a small EP 80/90 bottle with its flexible filling tube from your local service station and hang on to it.
I've had mine for years and I just decant from my 5 litre container when needed, and needed it will be, for your axles.
I do the same with ATF fluid having retained my original Dextron bottle with its tubular neck.
The additional cost works out at zero.
 
Excellent advice! Just needed something temporary to top up so should have got a squeezy bottle in the first place...

Either a small litre bottle with the flexible top. Or a sports drink bottle will work well. I carry one full of oil for when I go away if incase I need a top up.

Iv got a little sealey bottle with a pump on the top for in the garage. Works well. Tho only have it as it was a Christmas present.

This is what I use.
Great tool for many jobs on 90 etc.
 
Asda (Radox) shower gel bottle. Has a pump which I connect a bit of plastic tube to.
