On my S3 there is a square headed threaded plug that you can see on the box with the bonnet open...take this out and just fill till it runs out EP90,

To adjust the box...under the front wing should be a mud cover over the box...take it off you will see a square headed adjuster nut in the middle of a large nut,

With the steering in the straight ahead position loosen the big nut and then the square one should turn easy pre by hand...screw it in till it just contact the shaft inside...holding the adjuster with a spanner...tighten the big nut...that's it,

If you tighten to much to steering will be heavy and wear rapidly.

Is there a way to drain the old oil from the steering box?

Far as I know....not with out risking a damage gasket at its end plate.....

Why do you want it out?

Could syringe it out.

Iirc you screw in until bolt touches lightly then back off one 1/8 of a turn.

Re taking the slack out of the steering....its important to do it with the wheels in the straight ahead position..just nip up the square adjuster nut....no more almost with your fingers till you feel it stop.
