Hi All

I did a search but couldn't find anything that answers my question.

How can I test if my L-series 2.0 doozels turbo is working?
Because I can't really feel it "kicking" in as it use to before the loss off
power and injectors packing up etc. (See previous posts)
Thats all been fixed and she drives wonderfully but I can't feel the turbo working... :(

The idling(tick over) is not right either, how can I adjust this?

Thanks for all the help in previous posts, can't imagine life without Landyzone

Chris

whats not right about the tick over? without knowing no one can suggest anything.
as for your turbo, can you hear it? can you not feel it at all when you gun it? is it still down on power?

Sorry 'bout that...

Here's more info.

When starting tickover is fine, after driving and getting to the first stop or robot tickover is uneven (tickover goes down a bit and back to where is was repeatedly the whole time until pulling away, same thing every time on tickover just not on starting.)

I had the loss of power issue and cleaned out the EGR and blocked it off, bit of improvement, took it to a place named Injector Technologies who replaced the nozzles on all 4 injectors and calibrated the fuel pump and power is back but can't feel the turbo when I gun it. Before all this I could feel the turbo and hear it when I "gun" it but not anymore

I wouldn’t be looking at the turbo yet if there is possible engine management problems, poor idling etc

Hi take the turbo pipe off and see if there is any play in the blades in side the turbo and check your intercooler pipes by squeezing the pipes together and if they are very soft that can be the cause as when the turbo kicks in the suction will pull the pipes together and kill your turbo.

Thanks scott
The turbo seems fine now, I can feel it kicking in again. :)
(don't know what was wrong )

Does anybody know how to adjust the idling on a L-series diesel? :(

When you say "adjust" do you mean it's running lumpy or too slow / fast? The fuel pump shaft can sometimes wear which causes a surging (usually when you stop after "gunning it"..normally a Vroom Vroom Vroom then runs fine after that. Is this what's happening? No gagets fitted I take it??
Tiny is on 168k and she sometimes has an irratic idle when stopping suddenly but only rarely. Is yours a high miler L series? Changed your fuel filter recently?
