Hi,

I'm "trying" to replace the springs on the 90. I've done the rear 2. Very easy.

I'm now on the front 2. Only problem is, when I try and undo the bottom mount of the shock absorber/damper, the shock absorber/damper rotates at the same time!

How do you stop this from happening? Any tips? Is there a way of clamping it in place that I don't know about?

Cheers :)

Firstly, do you need to reuse the shocks or not?

Grip it with a pair of water pump pliers:

If you're worried about scratching them, then stick a couple of wraps of duct tape around the base of the shock where you're going to grip it, and/or the jaws of the pliers.

If that doesn't work, then carefully remove the nut with a Dremel and grinding disc.

If you don't need to reuse them, then as above but its much easier because you can just grip and grip them, and/or grind the bottom fully off.

Thanks everyone :)

Treworgey - I read that last night as well...whoops!!!

I'll give it a crack.

Cheers!

I didn't have large enough pliers or stillsons when i did mine so had to pop out and get meself a chain wrench, was cheap and did the job but granted not many, if any other jobs it probably ever get used for!

I used a Boa Constrictor strap wrench for mine. I bout it for about £4 and have since used it for more jobs than I can remember. The strap it uses is rubber so doesn't eat into plastic or paint like a chain wrench.
