Problem is every post made following that will return the fred to the top of the list and make it bold agin

Agreed, but if there is nothing I want to read on the first two pages of the listing I can just mark them all as "read"again. They drop off the list eventually.

They won't if there are further posts. I revived threads that have been here as long as me last night. And polls that get voted on do it too and its difficult to see what's changed.

And you'll also be missing out on a shed load of good content. No body forces yer to read em all.
