Evening all. Would anyone be kind enough to share some tips on getting the exhaust manifold, turbo etc off a 200tdi please? (I’m trying to get the head off).

All the bolts are free, bar the two under the turbo which are loose and I’m assuming will come off fully as it moves. I’ve managed to loosen the right and left pipes from the engine by getting a flat head behind them, but cannot for the life of me get the central one loose. Pic below.

I thought I would try getting the turbo off first, but the 13mm nuts are a bugger to get to and feel like they will strip.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Turbo nuts are not ones I would like to disturb [unless it is needing renewal]
There are ten bolts holding manifolds on, got them all?

Loosen (not remove) all the bolts holding it onto the head. Remove the exhaust downpipe.
Smack it with a rubber mallet (to disengage it from the gasket).
Remove the nuts/bolts and the manifold and turbo will pull away from the head.

The one and only time I had the head off a 200 I left it all attached after disconnecting the downpipe etc. Heavy, but quicker!

I know not quite the same as I have a disco 200tdi in mine but that is the way I do it as well. looking at the pics here the disco one is far easy to remove as access to all the bolts looks much better
