Fittting a steering guard today. From Paddocks, came with no structions.

Can't figure one of the four fixing points...

Here's the guard:

Question is do I fit the drivers side rear fixining on the guard to the nut shown with yellow arrow in this pic? I'd need to drill out the hole in the guard to do this.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Done it. Didn't need to enlarge the whole in the guard.

Done the nut in question back up nice and tight.

could you post a couple of pics of it installed and where it bolted too - im doing the same job on the weekend and others may find it useful too.

cheers

You may have done this anyway but from your photo is looks like you have attached the side pieces to the main guard FIRST. I found it easier as mine was 3 piece, to attached sides to chassis then guard.

Thanks Steve-o - fitted the brackets to chassis first.

Joe, Photos fitted...

Not too many options tbh. Front fittings use the bolts for the original recovery eyes (I discarded the recovery eyes).

Passenger side rear has a free tube thru chassis waiting for the bolt.

It was just the drivers side rear that threw me - didn't want to mess whith the rod that appears to stop the axle moving sideways :(.

Looks like aluminium to me too, where abouts did you buy it from - i quite fancy one like that without any daft logos etc on it?

It's ally with galv brackets - very nice thick bit of ally and nicely cut with a laser apparently

bought it from paddocks
