hi guys, hows it hangin, New member and love the site.

I am the proud owner of a 52 plate freelander TD4, but at the moment i've got a fuel leak and its costing me a some fortune.

After a little investigation a now know its from the fuel cooler (I love the tinterweb) but can anyone tell me how easy it is to fit a new one, I can get a new one for around £140 as my model changed to the newer version, which makes me happy as im not paying £400+ (cost of the old one)

Is it a major job, or can someone who can do a standard service, i.e. filters, plugs like me do it??

cheers

Fuel Cooler!

its the cylinder just above the coolant radiator, I beleive it cools down unused fuel before taking it back to the fuel tank. I know I can bypass it but wanted to know if it was easy to fit a new one myself.

nope he is right, it's a fuel cooler, runs just under the slam panel.

never had to change it though, haynes gives it 3 spanner rating, seems to be release the hose clips (catching fuel as it escapes), unscrew the retaining nuts and take it out.

not sure why that rates 3 spanners, looks a piece of p*ss

Thanks optimus!

Knew I could rely on an Autobot to come and save the day.
