Hi my 1995 Dse does not have a key lock in the drivers door handle, from some of the comments i have had on another thread i take it that this is not normal? Is there anyway that i can recalibrate my key after i replace the batteries and if no can i get another lock for the door and door it that way but i take it that gives me other problems to as the door lock then wont be the same as the ignition barrel

any help would be most welcome

what happened to your door lock,if you are just changing your batteries in your fob you dont need to calibrate anything, when i changed mine i didn't calibrate my fob.pat

no idea what happened to the lock ther wasnt one when i bought it i assumed this was normal! when i bought the batteries as a recon kit it came with instructions say it had to be calibrated after the batteries were changed not sure i want to change it as only key!

yeh i know they tell you,you need to calibrate fob,i was told the same but as i said i just renewed batteries then went in and started the car,as for the lock i think you would be able to put a barrel from another car as long as you have the key to open that door when needed, dont see why not but if iam wrong somebody will soon say

the lock must have broke just behind the control rod when some one took the door latch out the wrong way as the link rod has to be removed through the door handle recess before removing the door latch and got replaced with a passangers door handle as the remote was and still is working fine. the lock barrel may still be behind the door handle or in the bottom of the drivers door and a barrel with catch could be made to re build the old lock with the good control rod clasp

I've never had to re-sync fob after changin batteries- just do it without pressin any buttons ;)

Doug's thoughts on "missing" lock perfectly viable. Only way round it though is new one from stealers as they are coded to the vehicle!!
