Hi ok first question:

does anyone know how to adjust if its possible? the speedo to be correctly callabrated to the new larger tyre dimension. Doesnt really bother me but just trying to make the car legal, and unfortunately in Norway modifications such as larger tyres must be registered to pass the equivelent of the m.o.t.

Next question wondering how much my disco 1 is sagging on the suspension so wondered if anyone has measured the distance from the wheel centre to the wheel arch (based on normal tyre size (16/205 or 235/70/16), unmodified arches or suspension). Mines 19" front and 18" back....makes me want to give her a lift...and be able to get some new rubber under her...nobody likes a saggy arse!

Cheers Jim

Disco speedo's always read high as standard, i've changed my rubber from 235/70/R16 to 245/75/R16 and my speedo now reads spot on (checked against two seperate gps receivers), so depending on how big you want to go you might get away with it.

I'm not going to measure my height just now as i've removed all of the rear interior and it's sitting a bit higher than usual.

Get a device called "truspeed" or something similar and it allows you to adjust the speedo for different size tyres, etc. You can get various similar devices and your local electronics store may even have a kit where you can make one yourself.

I'm on 235/70/16 and the distance between arch and wheel centre is about 18" to 19" on all four corners. I was looking at her the other day and thought she could do with a lift, only an inch or so, don't want to change the rubber just get a better angle of approach. Depends on what your using her for I suppose, I'm only on the lanes and now and again will take a novice course at a site so dont need anything thats its not already built for.

Mines on 238/85R16's and the speedo reads dead accurate against a gps.

No wonder my old 200tdi would show 110mph with the wind behind it!

300 Tdi with 225 / 75 / 16's

Mine is 17.75 at the front and 18.5 at the rear.

Sounds like I have a saggy front and an iffy rear then !!

What's the best place for decent standard springs that are going to last a while ?

I have just had new springs put on mine and i have between 19" & 20" from wheel ctr and wheel arch.
