Gentlemen

I previously posted the above question and got a productive response but as pointed out I did not include any pics so now I will. I would appreciate any tips or ideas how to fix this or is it just knackered?

It looks like the more important parts are corroded and would be difficult to repair. It has obviously had a rear 1/4 chassis before, which could be cut out and probably used again.

yeah I saw the new section at the back. you can spend lots of time with 8th plate makeing bits up cutting the old rot out and welding in the new stuff but if its too much then its easier to get a new chassis.

Go all over it with a big hammer and hit it hard then you will see what you have left to work with

Wot he said.:D

Hit it hard, thin bits will give in, good bits will 'ring'.

You'll learn to tell the difference...

by the time you've finished buying plate, CO2 and the wire to fix that one up you'll have spent more than a replacement will cost.
you dont have to buy new, how about looking for a good second hand one - ignore this for owt other than d1's :)

Looks as though everyone is in agreement its knackered.

Spent the weekend in deep depression!!

Does anybody have any suggestions of which chasis to buy? looks as though the wife will have to do without any new shoes for the next couple of years as they are not cheap.

how easy is it to swap the chassis bearing in mind I do not use this every day so time is not an issue?

you can get on ebay cheap enough , I know a guy who paid £90 delivered for the last one he bought from there- just keep looking
