It seems that the younger generation wastes money in the likes of Halfords on £200 led lights, 500 watt speakers and lighting up the road in blue (what on earth is that all about) will never appreciate what us LR owners have in common !!

But in fairness I was also young once (long time ago now)

LR's ain't fast, (unless you own a Rangie supercharged) they tend to need lots of care and attention (my wifes tells me I love my Landie more than her, I can't imagine WHERE she gets that idea from) and they go almost anywhere you dare to try and go !!

I have driven LR's (88's, 110's, 90's Disco's and even ones with hydraulic platforms on) now I own a 04 Disco TD5, it's clocked almost 100k and is the best car I have ever owned, although I'm saving hard for a Disco 3 - why, well at almost 50 I want a bit more comfort, oh and I like gadgets to fiddle with, but - I still go green laning and tow a caravan, and will own a LR for ever (unless TATA start making them :(

So guys, keep your Landie, love it, look after it and it will always look after you and above all HAVE FUN !!!

some one told me showing blue lights on a motor can be considered impesinating a police officer.
I havent got any tat on me landy(apart from the checkerplate), in fact stuff keeps dropping off cos it get bounced around!

50 and just bought my second Discovery, Had a 95 Disco for 9 years and just replaced it with a 04 TD5 Landmark

Hey I'm 50 this year - is it that bad, will I survive (the wife thinks I'm gonna have a major mid life crisis

How many miles did the 95 disco manage ?

Must admit, having just watched the Long Way Round (Ewan McGreggor) and then the follow up Long Way Down - that I'm now itching to do some sort of long trek adventure type of thing - in my Disco natuarally (Mine's a 04 TD5 as well, best car ever, clocked 93k so far)

Maybe we could start a 50+ LR Disco owners club :D :D

I'm 22 with a 90

I've got a 20 year old mate with a Series 3, another at 19 with a series 2, another at 21 with a series 2 light weight....

There's about 10 of us all under 25, good mates and with landys

It's brilliant to see the younger generation are just as keen on Landy's . . most I see tearing around are in silly little 'euro boxes' namely Citreon Saxo, Renault Clio's etc and otehr French crap

"It's a Landrover thing - you won't understand"

You'll be fine, some LR's are over 50 years old and still going strong.

DID? suggests it died. It only has 112000 on the clock, got years left in the old girl yet. sold it to a work colleague who has washed it three times in three weeks.

Or in your case a 49+ Disco owners club.

(I was not going to bother, but what the hell)

Ah, so on another posting (TATA) where we locked horns you claim to have worked hard and that you pay for everything, yet on this one you admit to your father paying for the fuel; and you are not resting on your familys laurels?
Come on, read your postings, the way they are worded, the arrogance and the subliminal bragging by listing all the vehicles your family own; they spell out "I'm richer than all of you and I'm better than all of you".
Don't get me wrong, I am not jealous of you, I am more than happy with my lot; but yes I am angry, yes I am not wealthy, yes it's a free country with free speech and yes we can therefore both say what we like.
I think the spoilt brat cap still fits, alongside sanctimonious hypocritical prick.
Over to you, I'm enjoying this. :D

get stuck in mate ;;; what he forgot to tell everyone is he is nobby no mates because with all thouse cars to wash what time has he got left ??
