dont know what to do sell or put away for a few years, so how much would you pay for a 1986 RR classic 200tdi manual, still got just 69,980 miles with all old mot's, had loads of work done in past by froggat's land rover photo's to prove, no rot, great paintwork, stainles exaust, its the one in my photo
 
Put it away if you have the space and don't need the cash, it's an appreciating asset.
Otherwise I'll offer a large Mars bar and a Kit Kat:)
 
I can't afford to join in the bidding
so I'll just say that I'd love to have that tucked away at the back of my garage for ten years or so.
 
I've just found a used magnum ice lolly. One careful owner. It was delicious.
Does that top a Mars bar?

A quick search shows anywhere between £3k and £20k for a decent example (including petrol, couldn't find many diesels.) That's a hell of a spread.

Think the others are right though, if you can stop it rusting and stop it seizing the price will only go one way.

That's the crucial point, otherwise don't bother. There are plenty of rusty & badly maintained Classics on the market, which is why only the very best are realising the real money.
 
The value will go up but to get the most out of it the put it back to original spec.
There are plenty of cheap rotting V8s out there to get the parts from.
 
If it was original with your low mileage it would be interesting plus worth a bit more than it is at present.
Sold my 3.5 back in 1997 £3,600, it cost me £25,000 ten years earlier. :(

I've got an '85 4 door RRC that I need to move on. Any offers?

3.5 V8 on carbs ... Manual ... pretty much original spec, and only 41,880 on it's clock. It was dry garaged for ten years before I got it. Goes like a rocket :) and drinks like a fish. :(

I started giving it a once over, but got knocked over by the Big C last year and I'm still quite wonky, so I've done nothing further on it for over a year now. It's on SORN and the MoT has run out, but there's no reason why it won't pass. I'd recommend changing the Brake and clutch fluids though. Everything works, but the fluids in there are at least ten years old.

I'm not supposed to drive yet, but I ran it round the block last month ... It started and drove OK. Headlining has started to droop in places, but it hasn't collapsed yet. It's also been stood in the open since Mother Nature ripped the covers off it last October, so it needs a clean.

My insurance gives it an agreed value of £5000, but as it's on SORN I'm prepared to accept lower bids. I can't finish it off myself, so it needs to find a new lover.
