Well, seeing as you don't like to hear about the truth, then how about this/

Everything is just peachy. Don't worry about a thing, the time to start worrying would be if your engine didn't use any oil at all between services.
Almost 2 litres of oil consumption in 6000 miles within modern engines closely machined tolerances is nothing whatsoever to worry about!!!

There, feel better now............................................. didn't think so.

Do some proper research on oil consumption before you splutter our more sarcastic verbal diarrhea. YOU PRAT.

"Aftermarket Performance Chips and Modifications. Increasing performance through the use of performance/power enhancement products to a stock or factory engine can increase the chance of excessive oil consumption."

Just found this on an oil website, I think the PSI is the culprit!

Bull****. I have a PSI powerbox and negligable oil consumption, also the remapped Transit uses no oil between changes.

Power is also a function of your right foot, an engine that is thrashed may well use a little more oil.

Just because it has made no difference on your engine does not mean it has not affected mine.

I will not be removing it to see if it is at fault, as the car is a far to flat without it.

It's not what you do, it's the way that you do it.

bollox.

Anway, I think the best thing i can do is to change the oil more frequently than the 6000 I was planning while using the PSI.

Hi Simon!!

Check your turbo;), I m sure that you with the Powerbox, are putting more high rev in, no?

I had thought that the turbo could be where some oil is getting through too.

But the engine sounds and performes so sweet, its just not worth messing about with.

For the sake of adding a little oil between changes, I will leave it and hope its just in the normal usage limits, which it is.

If it gets worse, I will look further in to it.

Cheers.

ok,item 35 says it can increase oil consumption,NOT IT DOES INCREASE IT,they are just pushing their own product.i have a psi box fitted to my p38 doozil and i have never had to top the oil up in over twelve months of owning it.its done 109,000 miles.:D:D. eas is fecked though.:(:(.

They only say increase the CHANCE of increased oil consumption

Guys, this idiot runs down every piece of advice you give him. Just leave him to it, that's what I say.
Play nicely children!:5bgrouphug::5bchillpill::lvgay-lovers-148:

My diesel uses about a litre per thousand, runs well but i,ve also got an oil leak leaving a deposit on the chassis, it appears to be from a slit rubber breather tube which i got to investigate further. Any ideas. also u guys with PSI what sort of performance enhancement do u get? mines as flat as a pancake pulling away although will go if i boot it, finally what are the symptoms of a dirty intercooler? is it an easy fix?

PSI makes a world of difference. Simple as that.

I'm guessing it's normal for a diesel to use oil then?

What about petrol? Mine hasnt lost any since I serviced it almost 2k miles ago.

Wait til you start driving yer new motor :D The vectra we have for work uses a bit, then again, it is 400miles past its service

it will still be cheaper to put oil in me nooo motah than it cost to put diesel in the p38.:D
