Gentlemen,

I bought this off the previous tenants of our farm, but now may need to sell it.

I think it's a 2a, later wings, lots of modifications, lots of work done, needs more.

All I have been told about it is that the gearbox doesn't work, and the V8 he's put in it is bloomin quick.

Chassis looks sound and well painted, new suspension bits and pieces.

As it's in far from original condition, is it worth much as it is? If it is only a few hundred quid then I'll just keep it and maybe one day get her back on the road, but if I might get over £600 then I'll have to sell. Anyone care to guess a price if it was running?

Any advice appreciated...
Neil

When you say running, do you mean road-worthy? MOT those leaf springs sorted etc? Or just a standing project with an engine that will start?

You could have quite a nice project there scrounging the missing bits and trawling for parts and so on. If you'd enjoy getting it running and road worthy I'd do that, the return would be worth it.

As it is, I think it would struggle to fetch £600. Sometimes a good, 'spares or repair' vehicles can fetch a few hundred but with this, as lots of it is non original spec it would not make a good donor for someone's current project.

However, stick a £600 reserve on and whack it on ebay, see who bites!

ebay is a funny place, either it will sell for loads or you wont get anything, and even after selling you loose out with all the fee's, advertising it locally would be ok or on websites like this, someone will make an offer but dont think you will reach the £600

I think as it is, sold as as vehicle and not as parts you'd get £300 for it.

Take the engine out and sell that, take the wheels off and sell them and you'll have more than £300 + still half a landy left... weird but it's how it works!

Thanks guys, all good advice.

Since we moved in I haven't had a chance to even tinker with it.

I think on balance I'll keep hold of it and try and get it going. Will be fun at least and get me out of the house!

I'll keep you posted... :)

from what i can see from the pics, id keep it and get it on the road and you will have a nice landy

Looks like not a bad conversion - P5/6 engine with later rocker covers.

Conversion plates fetch £2 - 300 quid

Enigne worth about £500 if its running

Look like procomp +2 shocks

TBH if you got it running, as its been fooked about with, you'll be lucky at £1000 - £1500.

Better to get it running and keep it as a bit of fun! What else does that kind of money buy you?

About 20 hours of fun, or 1 hour every 2 weeks...

or 30 mins of fun once a month for 2 years......

or 15 mins of fun every month for 4 years.......

...All that with zero maintenance, no runing costs, and you not ending up covered in **** (well, that might only be partially true...)

......Fook it, mines on ebay tomorrow.....
