Wiring will not be in place on a 300 I don't think, but you could try to find a screen in a scrappy and take the wiring too.

Or make your own.

Just beware you need to test any second hand screen before you buy, resistance should be around 1.1 ohm each side, iirc

Cheers

Not wanting to hijack, I have a disco 300tdi DS. it has no wiring for a heated front screen. are you saying that i could fit this in and it would be easy enough?

Kinda depends on who's doing it don't you think ?

An auto electrician will find it easy enough.

I'm pretty damn sure I could do it ( Not that I want one in me Fender anyway ) and the Doris's mondeo's got one anyway :D

How handy are ya at lectrics???? ;)

Update,
They now have a new trim sitting on the managers desk, and they are due to fit the new screen tomorrow morning. I dont know if there are any diffrent screens but this one fitted to mine is the green tinted opticool heated screen, and they are obviously fitting the same back in.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

For reference, the screen i had fitted was a green tinted heated.

optikool is that new glass that helps to reflect heat i think...

Optikool is:-
Glass that reduces the effects of solar heat build-up inside the car. The major requirements are for passenger comfort, minimising the degrading effects of the sun's radiation on interior trims and fabrics, and improving fuel consumption by lowering the load on the vehicle's air conditioning unit.

Finally its fitted, just hope it doesnt leak. I asked the fitter if he knew the price and he recons £200 + £100 fitting.

That doesn't actually seem that bad.

Paid £160 fitted for a standard screen on my Freelander when I had it.

I have a 2002 Disco and the heated screen clears on the RHS first and then the LHS, as the car is a left hand drive it is a little irritating waiting for the drivers side to clear whilst the front passenger has full visibilty. I assume it is the normal set up for a right hand drive car which just was not changed for LHD production models?
My solution is just to get the wife to scrape the screen on my side whilst her side of the car is clearing.:)

i find that the new screen in my disco is slightly mismatched. i made the wiring loom myself so i know that everything is identical/correct. i measured the resistance when i got it and there was a small difference, this would explain why. interestingly though, my right hand side clears slower - they are 'supposed' to clear at the same time.

oh well :)
