how much have people paid for donor disco's for their 200tdi conversions?
Has anyone been able to recoup all their money back from selling bits after they've taken what they've needed??

i paid £350 for mine, got £150 scrap, £50 for my old engine, £50 worth of fuel outta the disco.

So, bout £100 plus the cost of all the bits to do it, and that was a 300tdi.

Rusty discos seem to fetch about 500quid on ebay. You can get em cheaper if you hunt around. Obviously the less you pay in the first place the better off you'll be at the end. Also depends on how much of it you use. How many of the remaining parts can you sell and to a large extent how long can you have it hanging around till your missus gets ****ed off. Remember the price of scrap metal is falling now too.

Something people seem to forget is the cost of getting it home. Ok if you've bought local but chances are you'll still need a trailer to shift it. If it's miles away it's going to cost a fair wack to get it moved to your place even if you fetch it yourself.

See if you can beat this. Payed £185 for 200tdi, gearbox and transfer. Sold old TD engine and disco gearbox to a breakers and got £200

I was more than happy !

£315 for a Disco 1 200tdi delivered. £30 of derv in the tank. Still got to strip the axles off and tranny box and gearbox. Plus £200 for the tools to do the job plus £260 for the exhaust downpipe and turbo pipes and the extended oil pipes.
Anyone want the tinted windows off the Disco?
Or the doors? all dented :D but the electric windows all work.
