Just a thought as i was driving my little basic F.L. Only front wheel drive and no air con or hill decent and even a 1.8 petrol one. I really like the way it looks and drives and having come from a 323 coupe bmw I thought I would hate the drive but I dont. I know the engine has issues and may well fail on me but I still really like my little F.L and wondered what all you other F.L owners thought of yours? So come on even with the faults what is it about your F.L that makes you like driving and owning it?

Mines a 2006 TDi automatic with air con etc, I bought it 6 months ago and upto now all I've had to do is get new brakes pads fitted. I like the driving position and I find the acceleration etc, great. The only negative is that the steering is a bit heavy and being an automatic its not the most economical car in the world but I wouldnt change it.:)

2000 TD4 Auto, love it, got knocking on front wheel, coolant in water (changed oil cooler) now fixed (hopefully) had to get new rear brakes, cant change thermostat cos its too much of a bugger to get to. central locking on both drivers side door dont work, sunroof knackered.
BUT I STILL LOVE IT.
Im slowing but surely getting through all my repairs.
I love the throttle response and driving off road is a doddle doesnt get fazed by it.
I love the muscular look to it (even though its a small 4x4)
mines in grey with chrome trim and looks the part turns heads at every corner.
If i were to change anything about it, would probably be...............nothing.

When you look at your reflection in a shop window and say to yourself "thats a nice motor"
then I would say you have a nice car. Over the past years (goodness knows how many) and dozens of vehicles I have rarely stated those words but with the Freelander I can honestly say "what a nice motor"
