If I disconnect the pipe (to air filter) from the cyclone breather and put my finger over the cyclone breather outlet, I get quite a bit of pressure there. Is that normal?

What engine do you have and how many miles has it covered? A certain amount is acceptable and to be expected, particularly in turbo charged engines. Obviously there are limits and excessive crank case pressure would point to worn bores / cracked pistons / blown head gasket (if it's chuffing) etc...
