Just got my insurance today. £254 full comp with mods declared. 0 yrs NCB as its used on my daily drive. Not too bad for a first years insurance :)
 
£350 fully comp, not many mods, but they are declared (CB, wing tops, spare mount, towbar & steering guard), also declared some I will be fitting (snorkle, lightbar, diff guards), which they were fine with.
Im 31, 9 yrs NCB.

'98 Disco 300Tdi, no mods, parked on street, 36, 13yrs NCD, 6000 miles and foreign use extension. Me as main, missus as 'minor' driver.

I think a lot depends on the address and on street/off street apart from the age/ncd/mods thing.

As someone said -its a numbers game - NFU were way off, Admiral was the bargaining tool to get the existing lot (Aviva) down to a reasonable price.

We are about 3-4 years into the multicar malarky and I think the discount effect is starting to wear off as more firms are entering the market. I know that sounds strange but speaking to friends who also multicar - they are seeing silly increases and are going back to single car insurance products.

Our 'fleet' are 'old' bangers that do next to no mileage - a 98 disco and an 04 passat estate. Yet, our renewal was just under 800 quid which I bartered down to about 590 quid with foreign use added on the disco this year.

I think they are all trying it on pricewise, I'd even go so far as to say seemingly colluding on prices - there seems to be a big similarity in the prices yet one or two will be quite 'cheap' in comparison - as with us and Admiral. They were the stick to 'beat' Aviva with this year.
 
This year Ive found my current insurance company is NOT putting a named driver Under 25 on the policy despite the fact they have been on the 110 for the past two years with No accidents or claims, has anyone found this to be the case or can anyone recommend a company who is accepting U25 named drivers?

ok things must be going crazy.. I just had my renewal through this morning, last year £320 fully comp and im 32,

this year.....

£760????!?!?!?!!?!? and they have removed my offroad and breakdown?? thats with lancaster, can anyone else recommend a company to change too??

Mine is £800 for anything except Cosworth and steam engine upto 7.5 ton protected no claims which added £79 to it currently I have a lorry and about 5 cars on it

which company mate ... ?

i have a fridged transit, and several cars... that price would suit me very
much :D
 
hello mate thats with elephant, but admiral should do the same deal as they are a sister company.
My first year of insuring with them i did have to pay for it all upfront.

Admiral, Elephant, Bell, Diamond, Gladiator Commercial and even Confused.com are all the same company. I have 'fun' every year getting them quoting against each other.
 
I have just been quoted £248.31 by Heritage for a 1997 Defender 90 on a 5k limited mileage deal for me and the other half - I am 46 and she is 39. That is with declaring all the "bits and pieces" which the former owner carried-out and covers off-road use.

Sound fair enough? I thought it wasn't too bad at all.

I found getting the disco insured with my wife as the 1st driver and then me, worked out loads cheaper even starting again with NCB as its used on or other motors.
I was quoted £687 from Admiral telco £386 then with my wife 1st at Lancaster fully comp showing LPG as its a V8i £211
Worth spending a bit of time phoning or use money supermarket like I did.
 
Disco 300, 27 years old, all mods declared, limited mileage, insured as secondary car, third party fire and theft, no NCB £360 with Adrian Flux. My first quote was £820, so I was more then happy with the Flux quote.
 
1996 90 Defender, 1 year NCB, fully comp, business and social use, named drivers (48, female and 56, male), no limited mileage, £230.
Forgot to say this is with RAC insurance
