Oh I dunno... on LPG it's possible to get 16mpg whilst towing - factor in the cheaper fuel costs and that's an effective 32mpg.... whilst towing a 2 tonne trailer and 4 people's dive kit. Not to be sneezed at

i got just over 300 miles to a full tank.
mostly town driving around 40mph then a day out at biggin quaryy and a day laning
plus a lift kit fitted and a steering guard in boot :)

600 miles on a full tank. Over the last 2000 miles I averaged 31.5 mpg; best was 32.3 on 'proper' diesel, worst was 29.3 mpg on a 25% mix with svo (at 90p a litre). I am now trying 50% svo. I have an 89 litre / 19.5 gallon tank

Just calculated mine I'm on 23mpg mixed driving, got 270 out of the first half driving down the M6 at 65/70 then 146 out of the other half driving round town

Filled up with a new tank + some 2stroke so hoping I'll get some extra MPG from that

it does about the same mpg as my rx7 which is a 2.6 twin turbo... it needs a damn good service and maybe new injectors as it smokes like a bitch when you start it in a morning

Mine smokes when its hot, smells like theres something dead in the backbox mixed with wood smoke so I presume a mouse may have made its home in there when it was parked up for a few days

Oh well………...

I get about 450 normally, which is just under 25mpg. With 2" lift and ATs

Probably about 75% town 25% motorways.

doimg a good run next month so might try some redex or addative as its motorway driving.for avout 200 miles clean it out well.

i should have got a 300 :( my 200tdi does about 280 to a tank and it hurts every time i fill it up!

I'd say its the other way!!

My 200, even on muds, roof light bar, winch etc still returns me 29 mpg, but my 300 on road biased (Cooper ATR's) rarely does better than 25 mpg!

300tdi i get 450 from full to red light whish leaves about 8literes in tank, standard, with decat, egr removed.

just turned pump up so guna see what happens now

I agree WLM as long as you're having fun driving it alls good. Last thing I'm doing to try and save a bit of fuel is to put a leccy fan in and remove the viscous one after that I'll be done as I know that once the winch bumpers and tank guard are on it'll be dropping by another few MPG.

I liked driving my old polo but that was for a different reason, it was nippy and on the backroads it was like a go-kart but the disco is much better

One thing though, I have taken to driving slower recently with the new tyres, reducing my speed from 65 to 55 seems to have helped a lot on single carriageways as has dropping from 85 to 70 on the m'way

Looked in on this thread out of curiosity I would say your average consumption ain't bad mine is 12 mpg on a 4.6 rr but wot a lovely ride !
