A mate of mine has a lowered caddy, it sits so low he can only enter the local town from 1 direction, his wishbones had to be notched to stop fouling on the driveshafts, if he changes lanes on a road, the wishbones pull the cats eyes out of the tarmac and last week he ripped his sump off going along the M6

...suddenly my land rover appears more practical! :D

Haha yeah mine catches cats eyes but not on motorways!!! That's why my landy is my daily and the other 3 are just weekend toys :)

This is my mates bay, lower's
vw for a living,

I was there over the weekend they built this, was at BugJam show and they took a standard T25 and made this in 3 days, it was a charity thing and also the broke the world record for the lowest vehicle or something along those lines...

Impractical is the fun bit! Here's one of my vws (a caddy pickup) nothing can actually be put in the back now as it can cause arch catching :D

I remember cuting coils off the springs on my old opel manta to drop it.

Love that caddy and the rusty red van, do you know if he's painted it , Looks cool as is

only car I had that was lowered was me nova...

No, wait, thats it, the front springs had snapped and the rear turrets collapsed, ended up lowered as I had the turrets repaired at the collapsed height from the inside (the MOT didnt notice the front springs )

Im with you "Jongould" + "mk1collector"

Ive all ways been into my cars and ive lower every one of them it goes from where you lower it to improve the handling and then goes beyond that because it looks better but makes the handling worse but all cars look better slamed on the floor
just the same as when i was younger and i used to see 4x4's in my local tesco car park jacked up with life kits big tyres and snorkles and thought to myself whats the point of that
but now ive go one of them too

each to there own theres something for everyone

I am a massive car lover, always have been, my earliest memories are working with my dad when I was a kid, I use to go to all the american shows in the 80's/90's and then I started getting into other scenes. Every scene has its 'style' and there will be people who believe only their style is any good and will argue to death that any other modifications are pointless and crap not realising others think about theirs in that way as well. I have got to the point where I can accept a car for what it is, a chavved up saxo with rattle can wheels and stick on **** is a crap car but one with 200+ hours in the paint and body, whilst not to my taste, has to be respected for the work and effort that goes into it and not just looked upon as another crap saxo, same goes for all marques really... A true automotive enthusiast can see other cars for what they are without putting their prejudices on it IMO
