Hi guys,

as some of you know, im getting my 90 resprayed over the festive break.. The O/S rear panel has a patch on it which looks a little gash, so i have chance of a new rear wing.. I was just wondering roughly how long it would take to do as im a little time limited (gotta prep and paint the landy in no longer than 3 days, 2 of us that is..)

Cheers,

Ben

I will get some pics together so you guys can get an idea of what its like. Took the front bumper off this morn to find some rot on it so going to get a new one (Old man is going to knock one up)

I have done this job and it took me half a day, biggest job was finding all of the spotwelds, when I fitted the new wing I replaced most of the rivets and where the spot welds were along the side rather than use rivets I used a epoxy glue.Quite a easy job really!

Was it the N/S or the O/S? As ive been told that the diesel link pipe between the top of the tank and the wing can be a messy and annoying job?

I will get some pics tomorro, dark outside now and its covered in snow.. The O/S one is in good shape, just with this patch above the arch, which looks tidy although the pop rivets show where it is and they havnt been put in tidily. I was thinking about drilling them out and replacing with solid countersunk rivets so that when it is resprayed you wont see them..

On the N/S rear quater, the bottom of the wing has completely gone.. but the rest of the wing seems solid and in good ish nick for its age..

I was pleasantly surprised when i removed all the checkerplate to find that pretty much everything was solid..

Just seems sensible that if im going to repair or change a wing, to do it before i get it resprayed in 9 days time..

it was the offside wing I did on mine, and I did have the tub off.can't see the problem on the nearside really though? by the way craddocks are selling them new for £35!

That was the other reason that i was thinking of doing it as craddocks are selling them fairly cheap at the mo.. the N/S doesnt worry me, just think the the O/S may take a bit of time..
