I took my Disco 3 down to garage this morning with a new wheel bearing / hub assembly and left it with them to replace. My Missus picked up this afternoon and they charged her for 3 Hours Labour £145 !!!:mad: and whilst doing the changeover managed to put a nice DING and chip the paintwork of my Alloy... looks like someone got a bit overzealous with the gun...
Needless to say I am somewhat ****ed off !!
Can anyone tell me how long this should have taken, I would have thought an hour and a half max, but I may be wrong... before I go and start demanding some cash back !!

Any thoughts appreciated..

Cheers, Kev

All depends I've done 1 in 1 1/2 hours then another took 4 lol (disco 1)
Sometimes it goes ok sometimes not. As for the price less than £50 per hour is reasonable for a garage.

All depends..... is the garage by the hr? or do they us a shop flat rate manual? did you discuss how long it will take ? Why did you bring your own parts?

Actually sounds fair if it was a little bit of a bastard to do. I have done them in an hour yet had one that has taken me 3 because the caliper bolt snapped. All depends. No guarantee on older cars.

What isn't right is the chip in the paint work. I would have demanded £60 to get a smart repair done on it :(

a couple of hours is reasonable you have to take in to account of the 4 bolts were no doubt seized and iv had them seized on the drive shaft before which no doubt it was as it says your from scotland !!!!! did you get a quote before hand ??? cheers mike

Cheers for the reply's.. Heard it can be a bit of a job sometimes, think I was more ****ed about them denting the alloy, offered to get it refurbed and new wheel nuts so fair do's...
