just had a look at the front o/s swivel ball and saw this.
been like it since i got the vehicle (jan) and just wondering how bad this is. ie. need to replace immediatly, can wait a while, not a problem etc.

It depends
The ball is obviously heavily corroded and that will wear through the seal and allow the oil to leak out. That is why it is normally polished.

Is it leaking oil?
Is there oil in the swivel.
replace the oil with one-shot
replace at earliest conveniience, but dont worry if it aint ****ing out oil.
 
Garage advised to put oil in as it didn't have much left, ordered a one shot for both sides. Will just put the grease in and replace asap.

How much do you think for the replacing of the swivel? Do I have to replace the pair or one okay? The other has no corrosion.
 
Hi again, just getting round to ordering the bits, will I need new swivel bearings or can I just swap them over? Also is there anything else I'll need other than the swivel, seal and grease? Just making sure I don't get half way through and realise I need one little thing I missed.

Looks good! But is there a difference if mine has ABS?

Also do I actually need to get a new swivel pin for it or just the ball and seal okay?
I'm ordering these bits off another site along with wheel bearings so just seeing If i can save some pennies.
