My Ford Mondeo was the same....Diesels just take a long time to warm up!

I've had about 5 TD5's over the last 10 yrs and all of them would heat up very quickly.

However, as soon as I got each one I would - amongst other work - empty/flush/refill the the whole cooling system and replace the thermostat.

After that I never had under or over-heating problems.
