Tried the 60 to 70 test a couple of times in my TD4 Auto and just counting the seconds off in my head got between 5 & 6 seconds. Mine has had a re-map earlier in it's life courtesy of it's previous owner, but that's as much as I know…

Argh!

Ok then, humble pie in mouth, cap in hand, I'll get me coat etc.... reread the thread and tried 60-70 in fifth gear and let's say it was a tad (cough) more than 2 seconds!
Yes, I was wrong, I admit it, my internal stopwatch counts very slowly apparently, bring on the firing squad!

:eek::eek::eek:

what .. so you booted it in 4th from 2k rpm ..
waited till it hit 60 mph then started counting real slow like :)

.. 1 bananarama .. 2 bananarama ..

thought it were a case of white lines .. :bolt:

My guestimate was off a smidge yes! And no bolivian snow in the mix to use as an excuse. Doh! I like the bananarama idea though... whilst piloting an x-wing perhaps...

It should be 1 hippopotamus 2 hippopotamus 3 hippopotamus...

Do we know the power output of the synergy? LR has to up the power quite a bit on the FL2 to get betterer performance from the diesel. Just wondering.

2001 and 2004 figures are:
1.8 - 11.8s manual 117PS 160Nm
td4 - 13.2s manual 112PS 260Nm
td4 - 14.3s auto 112PS 260Nm
v6 - 10.1s auto 177PS 240Nm

early FL2:
td4 11.7 manual 160PS
td4 11.2 auto 160PS

Latest version of FL2:
td4 10.9s manual 150PS 420Nm
td4 10.5s auto 150PS 420Nm
SD4 8.7 auto 150PS 420Nm

my old td4 auto 2001 went a bit faster 115mph than my latest one td4 auto 105 mph but I am going to do a full sevice as I do not trust garages to do a proper service

Not had mine anywhere near those speeds. Bit too much if a risk. Starting it that is.

I have noticed the earlier models seem to have a little bit more power on paper, then LR reduced it a bit in later years. Not significant to reduce wear so I guess it was something to do with emissions. They seem to have done the same with the early Freelander 2 as well, from what I can see.

*UPDATE*

After the fuel pump, fuel filter, and x3 injectors didn't fix the fault (improved performance outside of the fault) the garage found the root cause. Solonoid on the back of the engine was apparently wired the wrong way round?!!!!

So far 4 days in its not had the limp mode, or engine warning light come on.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

60-70 now takes 2 -3 seconds, everytime :D

X reg 2000 TD4 134k miles

EGR bypass, Silicone intake hose, bit of 2 stroke in with deisel and intake manifold recently cleaned out.

60mph to 70mph in 5th was 5 seconds which I was really chuffed with.

I did it by counting "oneone thousand, twoone thousand ...etc" so maybe not 100% accurate however I did do it three times to be sure.
