A more important question, why do you need to travel over 70mph when the maximum speed limit in the UK is 70mph?

do yo really expect a sensible reply from a 14 year old that claims to have been in a 110 doing 115 ?

if theres any truth in it i suspect the sat nav was reading in kph

I got 75 down a runway.. with the wind pushing me  and then 55 driving into the wind on the way back up.

I've had a fair amount when it was a V8, but now it's a tuned 300 I sit at 65-75 as I now has mud tyres and don't feel safe.

Also want to keep my licence

Most I've taken the current Disco to is 85 and the resulting shakes was enough to let me know that she/I'm happier at 60 - 65mph. Ti's quite a dilemma though because I'm quite heavy footed and she'll happily sit at 70 mph +

TBH guy's I have a diesel Series II so I can't be a speed freak... Our 110 rarely brakes 80 but on one day dad decided he wanted to see how fast she could actually go, 90 never to be breached again.

how fast do you "need" to go in anything.
I done a mere 60 mile round trip today averiging just 55mph.
with my disco2`s doozel achieving good mpg on its now 193000 mile engine,
wtf would I need to go faster for,
why?
I was only going to and from a hospital as it was,
I did`nt need a blue light lift did I.

and to be honest, I done all the "going fast" things years ago both on track in bangers & stock cars,
then off, driving a minicab on night shift!

Both me & my landie are happy at 55 or maybe 60 mph,
as i`m 64,
can my landie match my age?.....

but does it really matter.......

Going up Birdlip Hill is where I like to test my TD5's grunt (am not really bothered about top speed)...

... if I can get 50mph before braking for the roundabout at The Air Balloon, then I know she's running sweet :5bhurray:

Your post signifies how (I'd imagine) the majority of LR owners on here travel from A to B. Most of us don't own/run our car's to be dragster's but to be what they are .. awesome at towing, but just as good as being a day to day motor ... without the comfort:rolleyes:

I didn't actually check the age of the 'person' with the 115mph 110, but I mean it as a general point, all the idiot's banging on about bhp, it means nothing if you can only go 70mph in this country

Horse Power sells the car, torque wins the race!

:5biagree:It certainly does in this game.
