Just thought I would ask the question how
effective are immobilizer I have the little
red key that turns 90 decrees and you pull
it out and take it away it cuts off the battery
supply.................
Pretty good deterent to the oportunist tea leaf, but if someone wants it, it will go no matter what. Just put it on a flatbed and say the're recovering it to a garage. Defenders are easy to get rid of, whether as whole cars or as bits on Fleabay. Big dog or the Wife is the best deterent.
Tracker is probably the best thing to have fitted. it does'nt stop it being nicked but at least you have a good chance of getting it back and hopefully catch the scrotes too.
insurance companys are now insisting on immobilisers being fitted as a mimimum precaution.
it does stop most joyriders. you need extra deterents as well though. a decent steering lock thingy is a good cheap visual device.
Heh heh, the dudes are only going to get 50mph out of mine (some ride that will be). At that rate I'll "borrow" the next door neighbours moped and head them off at the pass (with a wheel spanner).
Seriously, I have wondered about this. I am tempted to keep my cab dirty, so that the joy riders will need to do a serious cleanup job just to get in.
Battery cut off switch stopped my mates Landy getting stolen, after they had a go at his, I've had mine alarmed. worth the investment when you consider the money you spend on them.
