Just finishing off a series of fiddly electrical jobs on my 110, which includes wrapping the looms going into and coming from the chassis rails in self-amalgamating rubber tape, then some electrical tape above that to be sure.

When underneath the chassis I began thinking about twigs and other random objects snagging these looms, ripping them to shreds, causing all my hard work to be ruined and myself to be admitted to an asylum for electro-shock therapy.

Does anyone worry about this, or perhaps have a solution for protecting these looms when off-roading? I know some clever, prudent fellows have completely rerouted the chassis looms to beneath the tub, but I was hoping to protect the looms in their current location instead.

im sure landrover put a lot of thought into where the wiring enters and exits so im sure there wont be any probs

I'd have hoped they would too. But having travelled up a dirt track for years in various vehicles, including raised 4x4's, I've found quite a lot of hefty twigs and branches snagged underneath

Seriously - if yu really want to protect the cabling, then run it all inside some plastic or steel conduit, or even the chassis, but it is a bit unnecessary.
