Hello all, ....still the same problem with my 2002 TD5 ES auto. When driving normally there's no probs but as soon as I put my foot down (for overtaking) or pull away in a hurry the car starts jerking. This can happen from pulling away from static to already travelling at a constant speed. I put my foot down and it starts jerking. Very annoying indeed! I've changed the MAF filter, wiring loom under the rocker, I've put a new fuel filter on and now I've been advised to check my fuel pump. I understand that it's in the rear of the car and I need to check that it's working properly. What piece of kit do I need to test this and does this sound like the problem?

Cheers

Hi Al. My TD5 fuel pump problems were different, it just wouldn't draw the last few gallons from start up, fine if running but no way would it get going if not. The pump change was easy once I'd cleared the boot and the general advice I was given on here was change it anyway as it's bound to pack up soon! Fortunately, it solved my problems in one go.

Sorry if that doesn't exactly answer your question but you seen to have ticked most of the other boxes. Good luck!

sounds more like over boost you turbo boost needs adjusting but you realy need to take it to an indepandant dealer and have it pluged in

Check that the wastegate lever is not stuck on the Turbo
spray some WD40 or similar to get it loose
had this same problem on mine and this cleared the fault
Good luck

Thanks guys, I took it to my local mechanic who reckoned it was my XYZ switch (as the car had stood still for a few months with a leaky footwell) then to my local indie Landy workshop who put it on a diagnostics machine, went through both the gearbox (the switch I think?) and motor and not a peep was wrong. How easy is it check the wastegate, I've changed a clutch, brakes, etc but never fiddled with a turbo?
Cheers
Al
