hi,i am new to all this,i have recently bought my first disco(1994 300tdi) the rear floor looks pretty grim.any help on how to replace it would be of great assistance.i can do most the work myself(or i think i can)many thanks.
Hi 24645534, I've got the same prob, the Safari windows have been resealed on mine but not before the rot had set in to the rear floor all before I aquired the vehicle though... I have been told it involves removing rear seats all rear carpet etc, cutting..?? the old panel out and welding..?? the new one in..
Also anyone want to suggest a method of avoiding more rot setting in..??? Waxoyl..??
Looks like we're all in the same boat (from the look of the rear floor in mine a previous owner may actually have used it as a boat!)
Removal doesn't seem to be much of a problem (strip it out and have at it with the angle grinder!), the part itself is cheap (Craddocks seem to do a replacement for £49+vat) . . not too sure how confident I am with my welding though (it has been a long time since I migged in anger)
Some advice/tips from anyone who has tried this would be welcome
Gives an idea what to expect, I'm thinking along the lines of just cutting the grotty part out, which at the moment is only along the rear door edge, and fabricating a pices to weld in...
