The ol wilkys matting was around £2 odd a throw same size as decent door mat can also cut to size so may suit you well as can remove it when not needed.

dense foam sound proofing stuff is also excellent, used it around clanky ol generators with good effect, pretty tough stuff but can be expensive as has fire proof lining, so worth going to boat jumbles for as got loads at one jumble at fraction of normal price.
it has foil lining, high dense layer then semi dense layer, maybe OTT but hey it will work:D:D

Thank you :D

Think I will go for the simple option first. And if that doesn't work the tools will have to go. Never used them before I joined on here, why change the habits of a lifetime :rolleyes:

The camping mats a great idea. I kind of like the box, maybe a piece of mat inside the toolbox would help.

Yes I really am that paranoid :eek::eek: When I'm towing I also have the spare on the side of the trailer and yet another one in the Landy.

Bin the 2nd spare it's a waste of space and weight, get a can of tyre weld. and a 12v tyre inflator.

also good when grubby john's about.....

I have the tyre inflator as well  Does the tyre weld work on tubed tyres, not sure if mine are, my old Defender definately had tubes.

tubeless. it'll tell you on the tyrewall if they're tubed or tubeless. if on alloys then they should be tubeless.

And I blame you as well as Minty. Basic toolkit indeed, so far its been nothing but trouble.

I was very pleased with the things I managed to find to put in it as well.

Slight problem was the garage door fell on me when I went in there to find them. Stupid up and over thing, one of the metal cables has broken :rolleyes:

I keep my toools in a pair of £5 canvas tool rolls from B&Q. no rattles every tool exactly where you want it when you want it. no rooting around for em and ya don't put em on the floor and lose em.

similar to these.

Stanley 1-93-601 Tool Roll 12 Pocket - STA193601

They look good, would need a bigger version though and somewhere to put all the little bits like the sockets and the lots of different bars which fit to them.
