Hello experienced, wise and helpful Landyfolk,
I was in process of replacing front door lock barrels ('96 Def 300Tdi), but sadly the small part that attaches directly to the end of the barrel was seized on and has broken. Small aluminium piece. It appears that this piece is now plastic (orange in colour), but what do I buy to get them (2 needed). The handle assembly or the internal lock?

Thanks for the amazingly quick response. My concern is that the "I suspect" could leave me buying the wrong part??
I am going to put up a photo' to show exactly what I mean / need.

The lock cylinders are terminated in a pin with flats that contains the spring lock - that's all there is there. So, anything else is part of the lock assembly.

i'm at the office now (8:AM here) so i can;t look at one I have on the shelf but that's the way i figure it.

I was missing one of these, my local locksmith copied the good one I had, and made me one out of aluminium bar. I can't guarantee that your locksmith will be as good:)
