Evening all,

I have been mapping out some green lanes routes and have got myself a wee bit confused! One BOAT(green cross) seems to turn into a restricted byway(not quite a green cross!) which means you can't get back to a road. Underneath the green symbol for a restricted byway(on ordnance survey getamap) there is ======== symbol which I believe is "other road, drive, or track. Not necessarily rights of way". Would this be the way back to a road or is it as it says "not necessarily right of way"?

I know it sounds like I've had 18 pints before writing this but don't quite know how to properly explain! I have the map saved as a document if someone can tell me how to insert it I will.

the problem is, just cos it is driveable it doesnt mean it has to be driveable. You may have to tuen around or may not be able to get there in the first place

fine double dotted lines is usually a footpath. chance's are 1 council as left it as a byway. & neighbouring council has changed the status to restricted byway.

Ah right, sounds crafty of them doing that. I will have to call the ROW officer to clear this up then. Its by Rhayader and it runs along the edge of one of the dams. Being a noob to green laning I'm not sure if this is Strata Florida that I've heard so much about or not :behindsofa:

If it's the one that runs along. Claerwen Dam you will find that a few miles in there is a gate after which there is s short stretch of private land where access is not allowed then after about 100yds it becomes not private again and so is accessible - this may be the reason. I used to trail bike and mountain around that area a lot and this was always a contentious bit.

It would not be Strata but it takes you from Clarrwen passing the entrance to Monk Trod to eventually end up at Teifi Pools
