hi been offroading again today with spondon offroad lads been on a relitavly easy course but had loads of water now i lent a wading plug off a m8 put in etc but when im going up the hills via a pool of water not too deep at bottom its killing the electrics on my 2n quart petrol ended up stripping the dizzy cap and the leads off n wd40ing them like every 20minz is their anything i can do to protect this from occuring next week when im off to hollymoorside ? any sugestions please thanks
 
mi m8 put it in for me and took it out etc he has got the same as me morealess on myn it dint have 1 on the gearbox end like his tho
 
did yer find out where to put the wading plug ?
If anyone implied the wading plug would have any effect on your electrics you've been misled, you might as well stick it in your ear for all the good it'll do for them! It's there to protect the clutch by sealing the bell housing. If it's just your dizzy cap causing probs you could try a smearing of vasaline round the mating surfaces, and then a good coating of WD40 over the rest.

aye and all it does is stop yer clutch gerrin flooded !

yer can get a spray sealer thats like thick jelly that seals the dizzy for bad weather , or a good thick agricultural grease will do it

get 1 marigold cut the fingers off and fit it over the dizzy and seal with ducttape

Did you view the U-tube clips I posted on your clutch question?
Tells you what you should do to a series before wading to stop water drowning the electrics.........
First check depth of water before you drive through it......
Second if deeper than the wheel hub, loosen the fan belt to stop the fan chucking water about,
Lastly, enter water slowly, then gently accelerate to create a propper 'bow wave' and create a depression around the engine bay in the water.....
Basically, dont be a numpty and pussy-foot it, or just try blasting thru!
