Why Cooltide, because it's a v8? Or the fun/horror of first time getting a Landy?
Because I'd love it as an everyday motor to drop my 4.6 big valve engine in and use it. Land rovers are a bit of a love hate thing for me. I've had plenty and tbh the defenders and 90 I owned were less problematic than range rovers. But that's probably the rose tinted view I get after not having one for a couple of years.

Its nice to pop the bonnet once a month and say, " look it's still there ":p

Then here is some Landy love for you ;)

Try opening image in new window then copy and paste URL into insert picture tab. Sometimes works copying and pasting actual picture straight into text area, depends on operating system

He is old school, serviced it every year even though last year he only did 64 miles.... Tons of paperwork.

So, I now own it.... Trouble is, I think I've changed my mind already.....

Did a tiny bit off road and it was fantasticly smooth though.

What's the N for between low and high?

I love it's simplicity, no power steering and brakes will certainly take some getting used to.....

My wife will hate it though when she gets in it....

It's hard to explain, can't or what it is but I don't think what it is, is for me.... :(

I didn't understand that when it was mentioned by someone on here before but I do now.... Oops.... Oh well, these things happen I guess

Wounder, does that mean it's going on ebay?

No.... But I am really embarrassed to say, and a little sad to say, I will be putting a for sale sign in its window this weekend :(

I'm kicking myself.....

I got carried away as the chassis is sooooo solid, the paperwork, you couldn't ask for more on, it just ticked all the boxes for an old Land Rover defender.....

I've now realised I need to go back to a Nissan Navara which I've had in the past as comfort with 4 wheel drive....

I still need a 4x4 and I've owned Nissan Navara in the past so will be looking for either one of those or a Toyota hilux....

I'm so kicking myself but life is about experiences and this will sound really silly but it's the Landy I feel sorry for as it is a great one... Just not for me as my normal cars are Jaguar XF, BMW Z4 etc..... I've become soft without realising it :(

You're not giving it a chance.
You could retrofit power steering but do you really want to be an xf z4 mincer all your life:p

I fully expect a ribbing for this :(

I miss my power etc. as well.... I'd have one of these, when I can afford £50,000 for an all singing all dancing one :)

I was so focuses on needing a 4 wheel drive I became blinkered

The whole reason I'm buying is to get my paraglider up the mountains and so went for the best 4x4 I could think of being the defender....

The reality is any decent 4 wheel drive would be good enough for the gradient and surface type I need to cover.
