Just fitted CB and mounted aerial to the rear of roof above gutter only to find that the cable is too short to reach transmitter by about 50cm!!!!!! :mad:

Get a joining kit from any tv shop, think i got one from tesco actually. :D
 
you lose a lot of power through a joint and it can affect your SWR anorl

Ah yes, i have heard this. :confused:

The kit i bought from tesco was about a tenner i think and it had numerous connections(most not suitable for a vehicle) but, it came with 20m of coaxial.

So just buy one of them and redo the cable run.
 
Jump into maplins and buy a longer bit of cable solder it to the aerial and fit a new blug (pl259) take you about ten mins....

would TV cable not be RG59 though (at best especially if its from tesco) CBs usually use RG58, the losses may not affect enough for just laning though i suppose, but the rf rejection would be crap
