:5biagree: Landlover......best thing is to check the oil levels and condition and if in doubt drain and replace, always a good idea with a new (old) vehicle)......have a look around underneath, familiarize yourself with the layout. Its not unusual for the gearbox tunnel and seat box to warm up but if its more noticeable on one side an inspection should reveal why. The exhaust is on the passenger side and you could have any combination of tool boxes/battery trays/fuel tanks under the box.

Hope yer Landys given given you a silly grin :D

took a while to figure out how to get & send msg. Like the banter.Thought it was aimed at me at first! Ep90 in gearbox. Not checked trans yet. serious heat though.Too hot to touch along edges of centre&passenger set base.

could be a non standard exhaust running to close.....or maybe binding handbrake though they usually smell quite distinctive

You've got off lightly so far :D If it weren't for the bitch-fight you'd be up to your waste in sarcasm by now :p

no not normally but exhaust is hottest thing near there i have had on long journeys on warm days complaints of heat from transmission and justified so ,but that kind of heat could only come from exhaust any transmission part would have failed
