Hi everyone, new to the site.given time and help i,ll understand how to navigate this site. Meantime the title says it all. Took my new baby, 1989 defender 90 down the M,way for first time. 10 miles in and my wifes backside was getting the heated seat treatment. Not having them i discovered an emence amount of heat traveling from centre to passenger side under seating area. Oil&water ok! Any ideas guys?

been in diff lock wouldnt cause heat ,transfer boxes do get hot as they run thick ep90 and exhaust runs under that side ,you need to add some heat shielding under seat box

I guess you can tell from the comfort of your chair that there's the correct oil in the box, and that there's actually some oil in it ?

clever chap that you are
