I've never had any hostility when driving me landy. If anything it's the opposite. People always let me in at T junctions, motorway slipways etc. You get a bit of respect from HGV drivers too.
Often catch so called 'greenies' at work slaggin off 4x4's etc, but they never do - towards a defender as everyone sees them as genuine, rather than pretend/pretentious.
The long life also shuts em up, as the landy will still be running even when current new cars are recycled into razor blades.
As regards parking, the 110 aint the nimblest, but it's not really any harder than an average estate car. The only thing to watch for are the overhead barriers on some car parks.
