matto

Just fitted a Stebel twin mounted air horn to my 90,sounds much much better, instead of something that sounds like it belongs on a 50cc moped.

It came with a relay to link it up direct to the battery, but i have just used the existing wires from the normal horn,my question is,would it be even louder if i linked it via a relay and direct link to battery?

You'd be better wiring it into a relay matto. On the relay there are 4 terminals.

Wire from terminal 30 to a fuse to battery +
Wire from terminal 85 to earth
Wire from terminal 86 to switch to a fuse and again to battery +
Wire from terminal 87 to horn compressor + compressor - to earth

Cheers chaps.
I wernt sure if the relay and extra amps from direct battery link would make it any louder but did think about the extra current and the existing thin wires, looks like i gotta get me wire strippers and crimpers out again.
Would it be best to feed new connection from battery or is there somewhere under the bonnet with a high ampage i can splice into?

Whats the best way to route a wire from the battery to the new horn, want this to be easy'ish, dont want to have to remove dash board or half the cab to do it.

try and follow an exsisting wire/loom that is going past yer horn/relay that way you can tape it all up so it looks nice
