Driving to work yesterday...after around 8 mile I was having a job changing gear...the clutch seems fine.
Going from 3rd to 4th...on going into neutral it would not select any gear stuck in neural.

I pulled over I could still get reverse no problem...switched the motor off...I got second again but notchy going into 3rd...continued my ride to work in 3rd.

Dreading the ride home in case it let me down...but again bar the last 2 miles it was without fault but not as bad as the mornings drive.

Again this morning...just the last few miles it was slightly notchy but not and bad as the first time the prob showed its self.

Checked the main box oil this evening...fine.

So ideas guys...dreading having to take the box out again.

Nick.

Check the selector shaft has not rotated in the selector allowing the stick engaging end to foul happened to me awhile back selector bolt was not tight enough.
If you take rubber grommet out from the gearstick lower end you might be able to see the selector shaft end

Seems to slide from one side to the other alright...but I will check that out.
It just the engaging the gear that notchy the feels odd...when the box is hot that when it shows up...cold its fine.

the 3 shafts have to be perfectly in neutral, even with stick moving across the jaws one selector might not be fully located, try to feel for the detent locating fully

Those 3 round seals on the selector rods - i had to change mine for the swiss mot ... a week later ... drip drip drip
like Rubins said " they all do that Sir" and mine does it more after a good uphill run in 3rd
