Just thinking of fitting a snorkel to the disco, took out the air filter earlier and noticed there's quite a few holes in the bottom of the air box, is this normal?
Or has some previous owner drilled them in a attempt to give it a extra 0.5bhp?

Is a 300tdi 1997 disco 1

If it is normal would I simply fill in the holes with a load of sealant?

Thank you guys! Have a great Christmas!

If not the above, then yep - a previous owner has cut them to liberate more power :) I had a 2.8i Capri which had the same treatment :D

yes there are ment to be a few holes in the bottom of the air box its to let any water out.

when fitting a snorkel silicone them up

as above there are 3/4 i think on the bottom edge to let any water out...seal them up, the rubber bungs i sealed around and in the middle too and if youv removed the vaccum hose from lid seal that too

Ah okay there are only 3 of them, small holes about 6mm, after having fun in big puddles today i checked for water in the air box top was bone dry but bottom was wet, air filters next to a radiator drying off so I can have more fun tomorrow morning.
Nice flooded lane 10secs from my house :)

I'll seal them up soon :) didn't want to buy a new air box for it to be the same!
