So folks i have a feeling that the fork has come away from the pivot point or the plunger has went through the fork.what kind of a job is it to take the box out on the deck?no ramp.just jack it right up and support it on stands?cheers people

No need to jack it up, just need engine hoist and lower it down. I have only done disco 1 boxes but there are all much the same can be a bit awkward but not too difficult.

I got twelve year old that has done a half dozen disco 1 boxes and is refitting one tomorrow I hope.... so hopefully should not be any issue for a grown fella.

There's no magic to it... undo the nuts n linkages and pull!

if your just doing the fork, and you aint got HUGE HANDS you can back gearbox onto crossmember and change fork through gap. box out no big prob but it is f@@@ ing heavy and can be pain to get back in without right gear (or few mates round):D

Well av done aclutch on a toyota rav 4 and it was a bombscare when i seen it.then i done it a swore i would never do one again!a managed it allright but it was hard going.so this shouldnt be too hard.ma pal said he had the box in and out of his 90 in 3 hours,so it shouldnt be too hard.man put it together man shall take it apart!cheers guys.
