Hello, can anyone please help re my Freelander Sport 54 plate? I had a problem with a hissing sound from the engine and black smoke from exhaust when accelerating and discovered a split in one of the intercooler hoses. I replaced the two hoses and the problem seem to be solved. However the hissing sound has returned when accelerating from 2000rpm upwards. I notice a couple of puffs of black smoke again from the exhaust but it doesn't seem constant.

Could anyone advise? Thanks very much.

Alex

Thanks very much. The new hoses are secure. Any suggestions where another leak could come from?

Intercooler partially blocked or leaking?.. Sounds a bit technical for me.. How would I check for that?

Next time you change them go for the updated silicon ones the are much better and last longer ,unless you have already done this

Yes I noticed them after I'd fitted the new ones which were ones I could get my hands on at short notice. Cheers
