Hi guys as some of you may know iv had frequent problems with the classic lol. Now theres another raising its head. When i turn the engine off i get a hissing noise from passenger side dash. Its not a continous hiss any ideas would be appreciated cheers dean.

Sounds like pressure escaping, only thing I can think of on passenger side that could pressurise would be the heater matrix, is there a poorly looking hose and are you losing coolant slowly ?

Coolant did go down about a month ago but nothing since. Where abouts would the hoses be so i can ave a rummage ;)

Didn't some of the later Classic models use a Vacuum system to hold the Heater box Air intake flap open (oo err misses!)??

How very odd, I get a hissing sound from that side of the dash when I hit a high boost pressure, And ive also noticed my coolant going down if I have the heater on. Very interesting.

Correct - from the '86 model year. My '87 has it but even when the pipe came off under the dash I don't recall any noise, just an in-operative flap (defaults to the closed position). I don't know what model year we are talking about in the original post but I believe the same system was also used where cruise-control was fitted.
