hi all, I have a 52 plare freelander t4. ive recently started to have trailer lessons with it, and noticed when we picked up speed the hill decent light came on the dashboard with the exclamation mark? The horse trailer was empty, but unsure why it came on. when back at the yard I turned the engine off and restarted it and the light hasnt appeared since. is this the norm or could there be a problem. didnt notice a diffrence in towing when the light came on? thanks xx

Where is your introduction?

Forum etiquette would dictate at least a hello before asking questions.........

oohhh I do apologise. im katie ive had the landy around 3 months. lots of people tried to put me off buying one, but like how it drove and felt very safe in it.

This problem has only happened the once but unsure the reason behind it.

Hi Katie. Welcome to the forum!

Don't know about your issue, sorry, but being a Landy owner, if it happens once then not again...just pretend it didn't happen :D

Thankyou. haha yes someone else said that to.xx
There aren't many reasons for the yellow! to show. Throttle pedal switch is a common reason on the petrol Freelanders. I'm not 100% sure the TD4 has one though.
A faulty gearbox switch can also cause the ! light.

Hello everyone and hello to you luv not long since bought a Freelander myself an 05 sports auto td4 nice for the price, on a couple of occasions when lve stopped and started, doing short trips, mine has come on, l waited until l could switch off and on again and that like yours seems to sort it. Yesterday it got a major service plus a 100% check over and all was reported well so at this stage I'm putting it down to being a freelander quirk. ;) :D
